2021 – a look back

28 Dec 2021

Well, 2021’s been an interesting year for us and, all things considered, a good one!

It was a very welcome relief to be able to welcome guests again after the enforced closure which had clamped down on normal life for so long.  Imagine our glee when our first booking of the year came in – a month-long one from a guest who was to be in Inverness for that period in connection with work.  From then on, we’ve had steady bookings all year until our Christmas/New Year closure.  Much to our delight, guests have left some wonderful reviews.  (Take a look here)

In marked contrast to earlier years, nearly all 2021 guests were from UK. In past years UK visitors have been relatively rare, most guests coming from Europe or further afield. We too holidayed at home this year, enjoying a wonderful walking holiday in The Cotswolds in the autumn as well as several visits to family in Yorkshire.

Negative comments are rare in our guest reviews, but several guests had found the sofa too small for comfort.  In response to this, as part of our winter refurbishment, we’ve replaced it with a larger and, we think, really comfortable one.  Guests had also remarked that a SMART TV would be a welcome improvement, and so we’ve now upgraded the TV accordingly.  We’ll also be re-carpeting the bedroom first thing in the New Year and making a number of other enhancements.

Our great news however, is that following a detailed assessment by Visit Scotland, King Street Apartment has been awarded a 4-star rating signifying “an excellent standard and friendly, professional service”!  We’re over the moon about that and plan to publicise the award after New Year just as soon as we receive the logo from Visit Scotland.

If you’re planning a visit to Inverness and would like to stay with us, don’t forget you can book directly through our website.

We wish you all the best for 2022.  May it be a very good year for you wherever you are.

What our guests think

October 2023

Location is great - 1 block to the pedestrian bridge across the river and to the main center of Iverness, but well separated for peace and quiet. Easy parking right outside the front door with a permit thoughtfully provided by the hosts. Nice amount of space for a couple and very cute! Well equipped kitchen - everything you need, and a washer/dryer. Comfy bed too. Hosts very communicative and helpful through the Booking app even though we didn't meet in person. We loved this place and recommend it highly Absolutely nothing to criticize!
